How to File a Grievance with Proof on IndianRating.in

A practical checklist for filing: what documents to upload, how to write a clear timeline, and what happens after you submit in Phase 1.

Before you click File

Gather a clean pack so brands cannot shrug you off:

  • Identity of the transaction — order ID, invoice PDF, UTR, policy number, or service docket
  • What went wrong — photos, unboxing video, bank statement line, ASC report
  • What you already tried — chat exports, email threads, dates and names
  • What you want — refund amount, replacement, repair within a deadline

Writing a usable timeline

Keep it factual and chronological:

  1. Purchase / payment date
  2. Defect or failure date
  3. Each escalation attempt and response
  4. Current status and loss

Avoid abuse or threats. Strong cases win on documents, not tone.

On IndianRating.in

  1. Open File Grievance.
  2. Pick the brand / category that fits Phase 1 coverage.
  3. Upload proof and describe the timeline.
  4. Submit for structuring and human review.

You can track status after filing.

After you submit

AI helps turn your intake into a structured case and a statutory notice draft. A human reviews before any publish or dispatch path. Approved tickets may appear on the brand page and influence the IndianRating Score.

FAQ

What proof is enough?
At minimum: purchase or transaction proof (invoice, order ID, UTR) plus evidence of the defect or failure and your prior escalation attempts (chat/email).
Can I file anonymously on the public page?
Public tickets mask PII where possible (DPDP-aligned). Admins still need contact details to review and follow up.
When will the brand get an email?
Only after human approval of a notice draft and dispatch step. Phase 1 does not auto-email brands on submit.
