How Brand Accountability Scores Are Built
Honest Phase 1 explanation of the IndianRating Score — how moderated tickets and brand responsiveness feed public ratings, and what the score is not.

Why scores exist
Silent chat threads favour brands. Public, proof-backed tickets create a shared record: what failed, what was asked for, and whether the brand responded.
The IndianRating Score turns that record into a comparable signal across brands in Phase 1 categories.
What goes into the score (Phase 1)
At a high level, the score reflects:
- Approved ticket volume relative to brand scale
- Severity / category of unresolved issues
- Resolution outcomes when recorded after moderation
- Responsiveness patterns over time
Exact weights will evolve. Transparency matters more than fake precision.
What the score is not
- Not a government rating or BIS / RBI licence
- Not a substitute for consumer court orders
- Not driven by unpaid “sponsored” reviews
If a ticket fails moderation (weak proof, abusive content, off-scope), it should not poison the score.
How consumers should use scores
Use scores to compare options and decide whether to escalate. Always read recent tickets — a score without context is only a starting point.
How brands should respond
Resolve the underlying complaint, document the outcome, and treat public tickets as operational feedback. Reputation recovers with resolution, not with deleting the problem.
Next step
Browse categories, read tickets on a brand page, or file with proof if you are stuck.
FAQ
- Is a low score a legal finding against the brand?
- No. Scores summarise moderated public accountability signals on the platform. They are not court judgments.
- Can one angry review tank a brand?
- No. Tickets require proof and human moderation. Volume, severity, and resolution patterns matter more than a single rant.
- Do brands see scores before consumers?
- Brand pages are public. Brands that engage and resolve issues can improve their standing over time as outcomes are recorded.
